Job summary

LASIK MD in Dieppe is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support ophthalmology services. You will assist during pre-operative exams, manage patient charts, and work with optometrists to provide excellent care.

The role involves answering patient questions, performing pre- and post-operative tests, updating scheduling systems, and coordinating follow-up appointments. Bilingual English/French communication is valued in this fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

Your tasks at a glance

• You assist during the pre-op exams and fill the patient’s charts accurately.
• You answer patients' questions and ensure the best service.
• You work closely with Optometrists.
• You conduct pre-operative and post-operative tests for patients.
• You update the appointment system after every patient's consultation.
• You confirm by phone post-operative appointments.
• You will be cross-trained as a Receptionist (once the initial training is completed).

A clear view of your assets

• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
• You have an interest in the medical field and have a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• You find it easy to connect with others and quickly build trust.
• Your experience in the health care field is considered an asset (ex: optometry assistant, orderly, dental assistant, pharmacy lab technician, sterilization assistant, animal health technician assistant, etc.).
• You are looking for a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where your ability to work in a team and excel at multi-tasking will be an asset.
• Important: You have excellent communication skills, you speak English et français également (advanced intermediate level of French required due to the nature of the tasks or interactions with our French-speaking patients).
• Schedule: You have flexible work availability Monday to Friday (start time between 7:00 am and 8:00 am, until 4:30 pm).
