Job summary

Sunnybrook Plastic Surgery Associates (SPSA) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Clinic Nurse to join our busy Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

You will provide high-quality nursing care throughout the patient’s journey, including pre-operative assessments, assisting with in-clinic procedures, post-operative care, wound management, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Previous experience in surgical, perioperative, ambulatory, or plastic surgery nursing is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of wound assessment and management, post-operative care, infection prevention and control, and aseptic technique.
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative patient care, including patient assessments, surgical preparation, patient education, post-operative follow-up, wound care instructions.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and provide wound management.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coordinate patient care.
• Support clinic operations and supply management, including ordering and monitoring medical and surgical supplies and providing administrative or reception support as required.
• Contribute to quality improvement and operational efficiency of the plastic surgery clinic.
