Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking a Climbing Arborist in Hamilton, Ontario.

You will be in the canopy most of your day, performing pruning, removals, and vegetation management with a hands-on approach, while engaging with the public and ensuring work is done safely and on schedule. Responsibilities include installing cables and bracing, operating chainsaws and other equipment, and supporting the crew with setup and cleanup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of climbing experience.
• Certified Arborist or willingness to work towards.
• Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in the canopy of the trees at various heights.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Assist the trimmers and foreperson in job site setup, debris removal and cleanup.
• Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
