Qualifications

Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community.

Position Overview

Are you a skilled problem-solver with a knack for connecting people to the resources they need? As a Client Services Navigator, you'll play a vital role in guiding clients through WorkBC services, from application support to financial assessments and beyond. Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will be providing front-line support in the resource area by greeting clients, orienting them to available services and tools, and answering inquiries about WorkBC Employment Services. Responsibilities include assessing client eligibility, conducting financial needs assessments for job start supports, assisting with online applications, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records in ICM. The candidate also helps with tracking stats and assisting with 4, 24, and 52-week employment follow-up. Additional duties include registering clients for training, updating website content, distributing food vouchers, and supporting marketing efforts.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has completed Grade 12 and holds a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Career Development or Office Administration, or equivalent experience in customer service, supporting diverse clients with complex needs, and conducting client assessments. They demonstrate strong assessment skills, a solid understanding of labour market trends and community resources, and are proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new software such as ICM.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, team-oriented, and highly professional, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. They are sensitive to cultural and lifestyle diversity, possess exceptional communication and listening skills, and can confidently handle challenging client interactions. With a strong grasp of performance-based models, they thrive in fast-paced, multi-tasking environments and can work independently. Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in a second language is considered an asset.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
