The Don Valley Animal Hospital has been serving the Don Mills community for over 35 years. We are located west of the D.V.P. on Lawrence Ave. E., across from the Shops on Don Mills. You will be greeted by our trained receptionist and work alongside our Registered Veterinary Technicians, who will assist in caring for pets throughout appointments. We offer a wide range of services including internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, nutritional, and behavioral services.
Our ideal Client Care Reception / Veterinary Assistant builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include greeting and checking-in clients warmly; receiving incoming calls from current and prospective clients with courtesy and care; screening calls, booking appointments, taking detailed messages, and providing knowledgeable non-medical information. Additional duties involve performing administrative tasks such as handling mail, drafting memos, completing reports, and other document requests.
The role also involves veterinary assistant tasks, including counseling and educating clients under the direction of a Veterinarian or RVT on topics like medication dosages, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare. The candidate will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing, and handle animals in a way that ensures they feel safe and secure.
