Role Overview

The Client Account Manager is the subject matter expert liaising between clients, business operations, and IT to resolve client-specific issues. Responsibilities include new product configuration support, client onboarding, training, and facilitating JAD discussions. The role requires effective communication with C-Suite executives both internally and on the client side.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Plan and execute client requirements in collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure superior customer service aligned with strategic goals.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners, seeking opportunities to improve client satisfaction.
  3. Understand and document business requirements from clients, liaising with regulatory and industry standards bodies.
  4. Participate in operational enhancement discussions to improve the client experience.
  5. Oversee implementation of new processes, policies, and initiatives to support business needs.
  6. Prioritize early in planning, in consultation with team members and clients.
  7. Act as a first-time resolution team member through ticket analysis.
  8. Work closely with Business Operations and IT to meet client expectations.
  9. Review project scope with Asset Management Solutions and Business Change Management, assessing risks.
  10. Support HLE and SOW requests, providing guidance and recommendations on project prioritization.
  11. Provide performance feedback, coaching, and career development support.
  12. Assist in developing test strategies, plans, and cases when required.
  13. Educate clients on IFDS products, conduct demos, and provide training.
  14. Coordinate with IT on technical documentation initiatives.
  15. Ensure delivery of client requests aligns with expectations.
  16. Serve as backup for Relationship Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Solid knowledge of mutual fund record-keeping systems and transfer agency operations.
  2. Strong understanding of the mutual fund and segregated fund industry.
  3. Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  4. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a client-facing role within financial services.
  5. Proficiency in communicating complex solutions to stakeholders and clients.
  6. Technical knowledge of IFDS applications (e.g., iFast, IFWP).
  7. Experience working with IFDS tools and clients, understanding the full scope.
  8. Strong Change Management skills (ADKAR).
  9. Ability to lead or handle complex projects and major changes.
  10. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with influence capabilities.
  11. Ability to discuss solutions at a high level with potential clients.
  12. Highly analytical, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  13. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint).
  14. IFC Operations and Procedures course (asset).
  15. Bilingual in English/French (asset).
