POSITION OVERVIEW
Whitley Newman Insurance & Financial Services is hiring for an experienced Account Manager, Commercial Lines who is a knowledgeable expert advisor in commercial insurance lines of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a book of business, servicing clients in a courteous and professional manner, and assisting the producer in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business. Remote work setup is available for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a renewal book of business
- Work closely with Producers and other staff on client service, marketing, and renewal processes, following best practices and standard procedures
- Initiate account planning 100 days prior to renewal
- Maintain a retention rate of 95% or higher
- Provide same-day response to clients and business partners to set clear expectations
- Coordinate and support plans with Producers, discuss issues, and create comprehensive client plans
- Develop new business from existing accounts and leads, and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Prepare proposals for prospects and stewardship reviews for existing clients
- Manage account documentation, including inquiries, quotes, binders, and contracts
- Review client coverage, exposures, and risk to determine needs
- Keep EPIC workflow documentation up-to-date and ensure adherence to workflows
- Ensure accurate and timely servicing and billing of accounts
- Participate in cross-sell campaigns and initiatives
- Enhance knowledge of insurance products and client needs
- Conduct or participate in client meetings as needed
- Engage in training and professional development to improve skills and industry knowledge
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, staff, and other departments
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience
- R.I.B.O. license required
- C.I.P. or C.A.I.B. designation(s)
- Experience in client development and relationship management
- Solid understanding of policy wordings and coverages
- Ability to mentor others and strong negotiation skills
- Attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and EPIC
