Lake Country Co-op invites applications for a part-time Clerk/Cashier at our Food Store location in Emma Lake, Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Store Team Leader, you will stock shelves, process purchases, and provide friendly service in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires attentiveness, strong cash handling, and the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training for WHMIS and Serve It Right will be provided as needed.

• Must be at least 19 years of age or older.
• Honest, trustworthy, results-oriented attitude.
• Well-organized with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Serve guests and stock grocery and liquor products; face shelves.
• Monitor code dates and FIFO to ensure fresh inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and address spills or debris.
• Perform cashier duties: assist customers, bag groceries, process purchases.
• Uphold safety, policy and procedures; handle age-restricted items like liquor and tobacco.
• Follow Asset Protection and Safety Management systems.

Reporting to the Store Team Leader, responsibilities for the position include the following:

• Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members’ lives with a strong customer-focused approach.
• Provide legendary service at all touch points through various communication channels.
• Serve guests, stock grocery and liquor products, and face shelves.
• Monitor code dates to ensure the freshest inventory on the shelf; follow first in, first out (FIFO).
• Maintain a clean, organized store by tidying shelves, bins, and displays; promptly addressing spills and breakages; and keeping aisles clear of debris.
• Perform cashier duties, including assisting customers, bagging groceries, and processing purchases.
• Maintain a safe environment while adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards in social responsibility and the selling of age restricted items, such as liquor, tobacco, lottery, and fireworks.
• Support and follow Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

• Must be at least 19 years of age or older.

• Well-organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with a minimum amount of supervision.
• Strongly service-oriented and capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Attentive to detail and possess strong cash management skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
• Able and willing to obtain WHMIS and Serve it Right certifications.
• Able to fulfill physical job requirements, including lifting of 25-50lbs regularly, standing, walking, and kneeling.
• Familiar with Food Safe procedures and practices.
• Flexible work schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
