Job summary

A regional health organization in Winnipeg is seeking a qualified medical office assistant for the Ophthalmology Clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clinical operations and must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, effective communication, and a collaborative work ethic. CPR training and knowledge of medical terminology are required. A good work record is essential. Competitive application encouraged, especially from Indigenous applicants.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in current computer programs and use is required including but not limited to Microsoft, power point, internet and email.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English is required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduate of a recognized medical office assistant or unit clerk course, or an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Medical terminology required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
