Job summary

Healthy Planet is seeking a Store Hygiene & Care Specialist to uphold clean, safe, and welcoming store environments. You will perform routine cleaning, restock supplies, and sanitize high-touch areas while ensuring minimal disruption to customers and operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles, preferably retail or customer‑facing environments.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, chemicals, and safe handling procedures.
• Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and professionalism in interactions with customers and team members.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors, shelves, and surfaces throughout the store.
• Empty trash bins regularly and dispose of waste properly to maintain hygiene standards.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other essentials in washrooms and cleaning stations.
• Sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, countertops, and restrooms to prevent the spread of germs.
• Maintain organization and tidiness of backrooms, storage areas, and cleaning equipment.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following all safety protocols.
• Work efficiently to complete cleaning tasks with minimal disruption to store operations, including during business hours.
• Communicate promptly with store management regarding maintenance issues, damages, or hygiene concerns.
• Adapt to changing schedules and cleaning priorities, including availability for evening and weekend shifts.
• Participate in regular hygiene inspections and address any identified deficiencies.
• Provide courteous, professional interaction with customers when cleaning in-store during open hours.
• Demonstrated commitment to attendance, punctuality, team collaboration, and reliability
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support store excellence.

The typical hiring range for this position is $18 to $18.50. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, skill set, internal equity, and organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
