Job summary

Westbow Group is seeking a reliable Cleaner for a temporary 2–3 month contract at our Edmonton-area building. You will perform routine cleaning, sanitize common areas, and support residents with friendly service. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience in similar settings, knowledge of cleaning products and equipment, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a residential or commercial building cleaning role.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
• Ability to lift heavy items up to 25 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license is required; WHMIS knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks in common areas (lobby, hallways, staircases, elevators).
• Maintain cleanliness of lobby, gym, and amenity rooms.
• Dispose of garbage following waste procedures.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and restock supplies.
• Report maintenance issues to the site manager.
• Provide friendly customer service to building residents.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Identify areas for improvement and safety compliance.

About the role

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Cleaner is responsible for helping maintain the cleanliness of our building. You are proactive and take pride in keeping our residential building clean. You enjoy working hard and building relationships with residents.

This is a temporary 2–3-month contract with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

Hourly Page Range: $18.00-$21.00/hr.
Ideal Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday - 9 am to 5 pm (Flexible with other options for the right candidate)

What you’ll be doing

• Performing routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks, such as, dusting, vacuuming, mopping in common areas including lobby’s, hallways, staircases, and elevators
• Ensure common areas are well maintained such as lobby, gym, and amenity rooms
• Collection and disposal of garbage from designated areas while following proper waste disposal procedures
• Cleaning and sanitizing common area restrooms including restocking paper products and hand soap as needed
• Reporting maintenance issues or repairs of common areas to site manager
• Provide friendly customer service to building residents
• Maintaining inventory for cleaning supplies
• Proactively looking for areas of improvement in given tasks
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and residents
• Using the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary

What we’re looking for

• 1 year experience in a residential or commercial building cleaning role
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products
• Ability to lift heavy items up to 25 lbs
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS) is an asset
