Job summary

BEST Service Pros in Mississauga, ON is looking for a Light Duty Custodian to keep common areas clean, presentable and inviting across our facilities. You’ll perform routine cleaning, washrooms, empty garbage, mop and sweep, and report repairs as needed.

This full-time role offers shift options (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am) and opportunities for on-the-job training, with above-minimum wages and an inclusive, award-winning culture.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
• WHMIS Certification is an asset
• Physical stamina and mobility for cleaning tasks
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and detailed cleaning of assigned areas including dusting, wipe-downs, washroom cleaning and vacuuming
• Sweep and mop floors
• Take out and dispose of garbage
• Maintain cleaning equipment and materials in safe condition
• Report repairs or replacements as needed

JOB CLASS:

Light Duty Custodian

JOB OVERVIEW:

You will be responsible for making sure your building looks clean, presentable, and inviting at all times. Some of the duties and responsibilities include maintaining common areas, and washrooms, mopping, sweeping, and wiping down the glass and other surfaces.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine and detailed cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, wiping, litter pick up, washroom cleaning and vacuuming
• Sweep and mop floors
• Take out and properly dispose of garbage
• Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
• Monitor and report any repairs or required replacements

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
• WHMIS Certification is an asset
• Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to reach, kneel and bend
• Ability to lift, push and pull required load (up to 50lbs)

• Ability to pass Canadian Background Check
