Job summary

BEST is a Canadian janitorial company seeking a Casual, On-Call employee for cleaning and custodial duties in New Westminster. The role covers cleaning offices, washrooms, and common areas, with shifts from 10:00pm–6:00am or 8:00am–4:00pm and a wage of $21.48 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to use auto scrubbers, burnishers, carpet cleaning equipment, and tucker pole.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
• Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
• Ability to read and understand labels and instructions.
• Previous custodial experience is an asset.
• Acceptable security and criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, auditoriums, classrooms, washrooms, kitchen, dining areas, halls, entrances/exits, reception areas and more
• Ensure proper sanitation & disinfection procedures are followed
• Replenish supplies as needed
• Ensure garbage disposal in proper bins
• Clean all dry & wet spills throughout the facility as required
• Maintain & secure storage areas, cleaning equipment & materials in an orderly manner
• Report equipment repairs and stock shortages
• Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs
• Other duties as assigned

JOB OVERVIEW:

You will be responsible for ensuring your building looks clean, presentable, and inviting. Some of the duties and responsibilities include maintaining common areas, and washrooms, mopping, sweeping, and wiping down the glass and other surfaces
