Job summary

Gategroup in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking motivated sanitation staff to help maintain clean kitchens and dining areas for airline catering and services.

You will perform cleaning tasks, follow SOPs and GMPs, and report sanitation issues to management. The role requires physical fitness, ability to lift 25 kg, and willingness to work varied shifts. CAD 18.10 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work varying shifts and overtime.
• Able to lift up to 25 kg regularly.
• Able to work in -18°C to 50°C environments.
• High school diploma required.
• Basic English verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Clean machines and appliances in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, scrub and mop floors.
• Maintain supplies and cleanliness of office and staff cafeteria.
• Dispose of waste and recycling per SOPs.
• Complete sanitation records daily.
• Follow sanitation booklet, SOPs and GMPs.
• Advise management of sanitation deficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Rate of pay: CAD 18.10/hr

Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc.

Sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing and mopping floors.

Maintain supplies and cleanliness of office area and staff cafeteria.

Dispose of waste and recycling materials as required.

Follow company sanitation booklet which provides an accurate way to mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions.

Complete sanitation records on a daily basis.

Follow company's written SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and GMPs.

Advise management of any sanitation related deficiencies.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to work varying shifts and work overtime when required.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and move any objects up to 25kg on a regular and continuous basis.
• Must be able to work in varying temperature environments ranging from -18 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius.
• Must be physically fit to perform job duties as work requires bending, twisting, kneeling and lifting of the body.
• Subject may be exposed to elevated noise levels.
• Minimum high school diploma
• Basic English verbal and written communication skills
