Job summary

St John Vianney’s is seeking applications for a classroom teacher (1 FTE) for 2027. The successful candidate will support Catholic Education values and ethos, and apply data-informed teaching with a team-based approach.

Knowledge of Explicit Instruction and Google applications will be advantageous, with RE accreditation a plus. The role requires VIT registration, a current Police Check, and a willingness to complete First Aid training.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to support Catholic Education values and ethos.
• Knowledge of Explicit Instruction is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the Science of Learning or Science of Reading is beneficial.
• Uses data to inform teaching and learning.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with a team.

Role Description/Criteria

St John Vianney’s is seeking applications from an enthusiastic and suitably qualified teacher for a classroom teaching position (1 FTE), for 2027.

The successful applicant will demonstrate :

• a willingness to support the values and ethos of Catholic Education
• knowledge of the Explicit Instruction approach to learning and teaching (favourable but not essential)
• knowledge in the Science of Learning and Science of Reading (favourable but not essential)
• a collegial, team-based approach to learning and teaching
• strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
• the skills and abilities to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience
• the ability to use data to inform teaching and learning
• sound knowledge and understanding of Religious Education within the Primary School
• competent skills and pedagogy around Google applications
• a sound understanding of learning in an EAL community
• the ability to build positive supportive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
• initiative and a commitment to ongoing Professional Learning
• an understanding and commitment to Child Safety.
