Job summary

Borealis Fuels & Logistics Ltd. in Thunder Bay, Ontario is seeking a Class G1/G2 gasfitter to expand our service team.

This essential role offers opportunities to advance gasfitting skills under the guidance of the Service Area Manager and to contribute to LPG service excellence across Northwestern Ontario. The position requires Ontario G1/G2 licensure, a Class A/D CDL with Air Brake endorsement (if not already held), and TDG training.

Qualifications

• Licensed Ontario G1 or G2 gasfitter.
• Air Brake endorsement (Class A or D) for CDL.
• Bulk handling, tank inspections, PTI courses.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods training and certification.

Responsibilities

• Support Borealis' LPG service excellence in Ontario.
• Perform new tank installations and tank swap-outs.
• Design, build and service bulk storage facilities.
• Design, build and service industrial gas distribution systems.
• Install, repair and service propane gas appliances, regulators, meters, valves, burners, and vaporizers.
• Work on liquid piping systems and vaporizers.
• Operate, maintain and train others to use a rail-to-truck LPG transloader.
• Permit gas installations in Ontario.
• Advance knowledge of CSA B149.2 code and apply rules.
• Progress toward Class G1 gas fitting certification (if starting as G2).

Job Description

Summary:

Borealis Fuels & Logistics Ltd. is seeking a Class G1 or G2 gasfitter to expand its Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario service team. Borealis deems this position essential to our continued growth in Ontario. The gas fitter will develop his skills under our Service Area Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support Borealis' vision of LPG service excellence in Ontario;
• Perform new tank installations and tank swap-outs;
• Design, build and service bulk storage facilities;
• Design, build and service industrial gas distribution systems;
• Install, repair, service, and replace propane gas appliances, regulators, gas meters, valves, burners, and vaporizers in residential, commercial, or industrial-related properties and areas;
• Work on liquid piping systems and install, repair and maintain vaporizers;
• Operate, maintain and train others to use a rail-to-truck LPG transloader;
• Permit gas installations in Ontario;
• Continue to develop knowledge of the CSA B149.2 code and apply the rules;
• Develop skills, gain hours of service and progress toward Class G1 gas fitting certification (if a G2 to start);
  

Education/Experience:

• Licensed G1 or G2 Gasfitter in Ontario;
• Class A or D commercial driver's licence with Air Brake endorsement (Z) to be done if not acquired yet;
• Bulk handling, tank inspections, and bottle fill PTI recognized courses (Borealis will provide training if required);
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods training and certification.
