Meyer Logistics in Abbotsford, BC is seeking an experienced Class 3Q Box Truck Driver to join our growing family-owned team. You will drive 26-28 ft box trucks on local routes, deliver to customers on schedule and complete required paperwork with Transport Canada compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience driving 26-28 ft box trucks or other CMVs over 10,001 lbs.
• Valid class 3Q with air brake license, no restrictions for the province.
• Willing to submit background checks and driver history.
• No recent moving or driving violations; insured at standard rate.
• Operate / drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Drive company trucks to make route deliveries to customers and meet schedules.
• Maneuver trucks to load/unload deliveries.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report defects, accidents and violations; complete required paperwork.
• Communicate with Fleet Management on maintenance issues.
• Heavy lifting 34+ kilograms / 75+lbs.

The Box Truck Driver drives company trucks to make route deliveries and completes paperwork. Works closely with internal departments to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner while staying compliant with Transport Canada’s Motor Carrier Division.

Schedule:

• $26.00 CAD per hour
• Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (start/end time varies on most days due to workload / coverage / business needs)
• Overnight hotel stay required twice per week to the Island with a ferry schedule (hotel expenses covered by the company)

Box Truck Driver duties include but are not limited to:

• Drive company trucks to make route deliveries to customers and meet delivery schedules.
• Maneuver trucks into position in order to load and unload delivery trucks.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report defects, accidents and violations.
• Complete paperwork necessary for company and Transport Canada’s Motor Carrier Division.
• Communicate with Fleet Management on maintenance issues and preventative maintenance of delivery trucks.
• Heavy lifting 34+ kilograms / 75+lbs.

Requirements for Box Truck Driver (non CDL):

• 1-3 years of previous experience driving 26-28 FT box trucks or any other commercial motor vehicle over 4,536.38 kg. /10,001 lbs. (Required)
• Valid class 3Q with air brake driver's license, no restrictions and relative endorsement for the specific province.
• Willing to submit background checks, driver abstract with history and letter of experience.
• No recent moving or driving violations, remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate.
• Operate / Drive a forklift.
