Job summary

Canada Cartage is seeking a Class 1 Truck Driver based in Red Deer, AB. This full-time role involves delivering freight across Red Deer and surrounding areas, with a Monday–Saturday schedule and start times around 6:00 AM.

You will safely operate curtain side equipment, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain strict compliance with hours-of-service and load securement policies. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Class 1 license, provide a clean driving record, and demonstrate

Shift Schedule: Monday - Saturday

Start Time: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across city and regional routes
• Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Red deer in a safe, timely, and professional manner
• Operate curtain side equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports
• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures

• Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required

Core Requirements

• Valid Class 1 driver's license (manual transmission will be an assest)
