Job summary

RJ MacLean Energy Services is seeking a Class 3 Vac Operator to operate and maintain vacuum equipment in a fast-paced environment. You will perform pre-trip checks, log logs, and follow safety procedures on every shift.

The role requires a clean driving record, ability to travel, and strong safety awareness. Accommodation and camp support may be provided when working out of town, with schedule variations based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 (or Class 1) license with clean abstract and air brakes.
• Experience operating vacuum units (semi, hydro, combo).
• Ability to drive manual transmission (13/18 speed).
• Strong communicator with staff, managers and drivers.
• Safety‑conscious with first aid and H2S Alive certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment per company and customer expectations.
• Maintain equipment per manufacturer and company requirements.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate ELD logs and documents.
• Attend daily safety meetings and follow safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment as per company and customer expectations
• Maintain equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements
• Perform thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate ELD logs and required documents.
• Attend daily safety meetings
• Follow the safety program, including all policies, procedures and practices
• Maintain valid safety tickets & site orientations as required

Qualification and Competencies

• Minimum 3 Years, valid Class 1 or Class 3 License w/ Clean Abstract with Air Brakes
• Must be Experienced with the operation of a Semi Vac/ Hydro Vac/Combo Vac Unit
• 13 or 18 Speed Transmission experience (must be able to drive manual transmission)
• Strong communicator with staff, managers and other drivers
• Instructor certified First Aid & H2S Alive
• CSE, CSTS, Fall Protection, Ground Disturbance are considered assets
• Operate a heavy vehicle in challenging environments, in all weather, and in compliance with legal, company, and client requirements
• Willingness to provide references, consent to a criminal record check and complete pre-employment alcohol & drug testing
• Excellent safety record and a commitment to safe work practices
• Must be physically fit to enter and exit the vehicle many times per day, inspect under vehicle and trailer, and climb
• Willingness to Travel
