Job summary

RJ MacLean Energy Services is seeking a Class 1 - Semi-Vac Operator in Alberta. You will operate and maintain a Semi-Vac unit, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a clean driving record, air brakes endorsement, and ability to travel to project sites. Safety tickets must be current, and teamwork with drivers and site staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class 1 license with clean abstract and air brakes endorsement.
• Experience operating a Semi-Vac unit and navigating challenging terrains.
• Proven ability to communicate with staff, managers and other drivers.
• Must maintain safety records and complete required safety training.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment as per company and customer expectations
• Maintain equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements
• Perform thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintain accurate ELD logs and required documents
• Attend daily safety meetings
• Follow the safety program, policies, procedures and practices
• Maintain valid safety tickets and site orientations as required

Class 1 - Semi-Vac Operator

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment as per company and customer expectations
• Maintain equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements

Qualification and Competencies:

• Minimum 3 Years, valid Class 1 Licensew/ Clean Abstract with Air Brakes
• Must be Experienced with the operation of a Semi Vac
• 13 or 18 Speed Transmission experience (must be able to drive manual transmission)
• Strong communicator with staff, managers and other drivers
• Instructor certified First Aid & H2S Alive
• CSE, CSTS, Fall Protection, Ground Disturbance are considered assets
• Operate a heavy vehicle in challenging environments, in allweather, and in compliance with legal, company, and client requirements
• Willingness to provide references, consent to a criminal record check and complete pre-employment alcohol & drug testing
• Excellent safety record and a commitment to safework practices
• Must be physically fit to enter and exit the vehicle many times per day, inspect under vehicle and trailer, and climb
• Willingness to Travel
