GFL Environmental is looking for a Class 3 Commercial Driver to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia!

The Commercial Rear/Side Load Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to commercial customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables from commercial buildings and transport them to post-collection facilities. An ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor and be physically capable of completing job duties in a positive, team-oriented, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely, efficiently, and courteously provide waste removal services to commercial customers, collecting solid waste or recyclables and transporting to post-collection facilities.
• Operate a Commercial Waste / Recycling collection vehicle, including side-load and rear-load trucks, ancillary equipment, and hydraulic systems.
• Load waste or recyclables into the vehicle, operate equipment to compact waste, and identify/prohibit waste items.
• Manage assigned Helper(s) if applicable.
• Maintain knowledge of truck components and basic maintenance for safe operation.
• Control operations of equipment, maneuvering trucks into and out of tight spaces using mirrors.
• Complete safety inspections, reports, route sheets, and other documentation daily.
• Report mechanical problems, accidents, or incidents immediately.
• Lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Sit up to 75% of the time due to driving duties.
• Follow all safety standards, equipment checks, and legal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Must possess a Class 3 Commercial Driver's License.
• Minimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience.
