Job summary

Bandstra Transportation in Abbotsford, BC is seeking an experienced Class 1 Night Switch Driver for our Abbotsford terminal. The role involves performing trailer switches between Abbotsford and Clinton/100 Mile House on a nightly basis, with loads departing at around 20:00 hours, Monday to Friday, starting and finishing in Abbotsford.

• Minimum 24 months or 150,000 km with articulated vehicles.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug testing.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and drive standard transmission.
• Flat Deck and B-train experience required.
• Proficient in English reading and writing.
• Forklift experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently accepting resumes for an experienced Class 1 Night Switch Driver for our night operations at our Abbotsford, BC terminal.

Job Summary:

The successful applicant will be expected to perform trailer switches between Abbotsford, BC and Clinton/100 Mile House, BC on a nightly basis; loads depart at approximately 20:00 hrs daily Mon - Fri. Start in Abbotsford, finish in Abbotsford. The successful applicant will be required to perform the standard responsibilities with driving commercial vehicles (pre-trip inspection, maintain hours of service log, general paperwork, and more).

Qualifications:

In order to be qualified, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Valid Class 1 license
• Strong attention to detail
• Minimum of 24 months or 150,000 km of driving experience with articulated vehicles · Driver's abstract must show no driving‑related criminal code convictions in the prior 36 months; no more than 2 moving violations in the prior 12 months; and no more than 3 moving violations in the prior 36 months. The date of conviction and the current date will be the date used to determine time periods.
• Must be able to pass pre‑employment drug testing
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Proficient in English (both reading and writing)
• Ability to drive a standard transmission
• Flat Deck experience is required
• B-train experience is required
• Forklift experience an asset
