Bandstra Transportation Systems Ltd. is hiring an experienced Class 1 Local Driver with deck experience for its Edmonton, AB operations. Start date is as soon as possible. The role offers competitive hourly and mileage pay, full benefits, pension match, and union representation.

You will transport goods, assist with loading, keep logs, follow safety rules, and perform vehicle checks. Flexibility for shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 license with deck experience.
• Minimum 24 months or 150,000 km of driving with articulated vehicles.
• Driver's abstract clean within the previous 36 months; limited moving violations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent English reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The successful applicant may be expected to perform a variety of duties, including:

• Safely transport goods to designated locations
• Assist with loading/unloading of materials at the warehouse
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documents
• Ensure all safety regulations and standards are followed
• Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles / power units
• A degree of flexibility to work a variety of shifts/assignments as business demand arises.

The successful applicant will be required to perform the standard responsibilities with driving commercial vehicles (pre-trip inspection, maintain hours of service log, general paperwork, and more).

Qualifications:

In order to be qualified, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Valid Class 1 license with deck experience
• Minimum of 24 months or 150,000 km of driving experience with articulated vehicles
• Driver's abstract must show no driving-related criminal code convictions in the prior 36 months; no more than 2 moving violations in the prior 12 months; and no more than 3 moving violations in the prior 36 months. The date of conviction and the current date will be the date used to determine time periods
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Proficient in English (both reading and writing)
• A background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process
