Job summary

United Rentals in Canada (Alberta) is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to help meet trench safety needs by delivering equipment safely, timely, and with courteous service. You will be a company ambassador and, because we're local, you'll be home every night.

Your role will involve dropping off and picking up equipment, operating trucks and low-boy trailers, maintaining logs, and adhering to safety standards. The position emphasizes strong customer service, teamwork, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
• Diligent attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers (low boys) per DOT rules.
• Maintain drivers' logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need.
• Operate boom trucks and cranes per manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety requirements specific to equipment including FMCSR.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

What you'll do:

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Maintain driver's logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Must also be able to operate boom trucks and cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Other duties assigned as needed
