Job summary

United Rentals in Timmins, Ontario is hiring a Class A CDL Driver to deliver equipment to customers safely and on time. You’ll be a company ambassador, interact with customers, and be home every night as we’re local.

This role requires a valid CDL, 2+ years of DOT-regulated driving experience, and strong customer service, teamwork and communication skills. We offer comprehensive benefits, competitive pay, and clear opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years DOT-regulated commercial driving experience.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs repeatedly.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
• Safety-conscious and diligent in following policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment to customers safely and on time.
• Operate trucks and trailers per DOT requirements.
• Maintain driver logs and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Assist customers and identify additional equipment needs.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.

What You’ll Do

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys") consistent with DOT classification CDL-A
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
• Diligent attention to safety

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
