Job summary

Bison Transport Inc. seeks a Company Driver based in Mississauga for shunt operations. The role runs Monday to Thursday from 07:00 to 17:30 with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break and a weekly pay schedule.

You will report to the Shunt Coordinator and support trailer movement and yard activities. Responsibilities include trailer staging, quick-checks, greasing, and forklift operation while coordinating with dispatch and property services.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to designated locations.
• Stage trailers for loading/unloading and yard positioning.
• Perform trailer quick-checks and basic greasing as needed.
• Handle general shop/yard duties to support operations.
• Operate forklift and assist on the dock when required.
• Collaborate with Shunt Coordinator and dispatch teams.

Job description

Bison Drivers are paid every week, on time! This schedule Monday to Thursday shift runs 0700 to 1730 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break Hourly rate: $22.75 Hours of work might change from time to time according to operational demands Reporting directly to the Shunt Coordinator.

Essential responsibilities

• trailer movement
• trailer staging
• trailer quick-checks
• trailer greasing
• other general shop/yard duties
• operation of the forklift and assisting on the dock when needed

Training will be provided. Works closely with Shunt Coordinator, Property Services, Fleet Maintenance Manager, Highway and City dispatch, maintenance and the warehouse on daily shunting activities.

Candidate Profile

• Company Driver residing in Mississauga or immediate area
• Tractor-trailer over the road driving experience, minimum 12 months
• Previous shunt experience is preferred
• Valid Class 1/AZ license is required
• Well organized and possess excellent customer service skills
• Comfortable with smartphone technology for emailing and texting
• Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
• Reliable, flexible and punctual
