Responsibilities

• Review carrier OS&D reports and identify new claim opportunities.
• Investigate root cause of damage or loss to determine liability.
• Identify responsible party in multi-carrier scenarios.
• Execute the Intent to Claim within 60-day or 9-month windows.
• Manage a high-volume inbox; gather evidence packages (Bills of Lading, PODs, photos).
• Request customer invoices on required cadence; negotiate with carriers.
• Submit finalized carrier claim forms; update claim statuses on the board.
• Act as primary contact for carrier-side communication and disputes.
• Negotiate with carriers to maximize recovery and overturn disputes.
• Monitor timelines and issue 48-hour Final Notices when needed.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable to initiate deductions when needed.
• Record carrier payments and close the carrier portion of the file.

Logistics Alliance moves freight for some of Canada's leading retailers and manufacturers, and every damaged or lost shipment represents money the business is owed. We're looking for a Claims Specialist to own the carrier-side recovery process from the moment a claim opportunity surfaces to the moment the carrier pays out.

This is a high-volume, detail-driven role. You'll be sorting through OS&D reports, chasing documentation, and going toe-to-toe with carriers who'd rather not pay. If you can hold a hundred moving pieces in your head at once, stay professionally relentless on follow-ups, and dig until you find exactly where in the supply chain something went wrong, read on.

• Morning: You're triaging your inbox, working through new OS&D reports and specialist tags to flag fresh claim opportunities before the clock starts ticking on filing windows.
• Mid-Morning: You're building evidence packages, pulling Bills of Lading, PODs, and photos, and requesting customer invoices on their required cadence.
• Afternoon: You're on the phone or in email threads with carriers, negotiating disputes, chasing missing documents, and updating claim statuses on the Monday board.
• Late Afternoon: You're checking response timelines for anything approaching the 60-day or 30-day marks, issuing final notices where needed, and confirming payments received.

What You Should Know

This role owns the full carrier lifecycle of a claim. You'll be given training on the tools (Monday.com and internal systems), but the judgment calls on liability, negotiation strategy, and escalation timing are yours to make. Every dollar recovered reflects your follow-through, and leadership will be looking at your closed files as the measure of the role.

Key Accountabilities

Claim Investigation and Liability Assessment

• Review carrier OS&D reports and internal specialist tags to identify new claim opportunities
• Investigate root cause of damage or loss using documentation and photos to determine liability
• Identify the responsible party in multi-carrier or hand-off scenarios
• Execute the Intent to Claim within the 60-day (delivered) or 9-month (lost) window

High-Volume Email and Documentation Management

• Manage a high-volume inbox, addressing every notification, document request, and carrier dispute without delay
• Gather complete evidence packages: Bills of Lading, POD, and photos
• Execute the customer invoice request cadence: at claim start, two-week follow-up, and final request before the 60-day deadline
• Prepare and submit finalized carrier claim forms

Carrier Negotiation and Follow-Up

• Act as the primary point of contact for all carrier-side communication
• Negotiate directly with carriers to overturn disputes and maximize recovery
• Maintain carrier claim status on the Monday board for real-time team visibility

Financial Recovery and Escalation

• Monitor carrier response timelines and execute the 48-hour Final Notice protocol when carriers exceed 60 days post-submission or 30 days post-approval
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable to initiate deductions when final notices are ignored
• Confirm and record carrier payments, closing the carrier portion of the file for leadership review
