Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) is seeking a Claims and Intake Associate to ensure efficient management of WorkSafe, LTC and STIIP claims. The role reports to the Manager, Ability Management and involves collaboration with insurers, managers, employees, and third-party providers to submit, monitor and report on claims.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in business administration, HR management or related field with 3 years HR experience.
• Knowledge of STIIP and LTD plans.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders.
• Maintain confidential personnel and health/safety information.
• Ability to perform analytical and creative problem solving in claims management.
• Proficient with MS Office to produce complex tables and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Process and monitor Worksafe, LTD and STIIP claims for employees.
• Collaborate with insurance carriers, managers, employees and third parties.
• Prepare, submit and monitor claims using available forms and software.
• Generate reports and respond to statistical requests related to absence.
