Job description

As a world-class asset-based carrier, Charger Logistics specializes in delivering assets on time and within budget. With a diverse fleet, we handle a range of freight, including dedicated loads, specialized hauls, temperature-controlled goods, and HAZMAT cargo.

Currently, we are expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Brampton office.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and adjudicate complex claims, including litigation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee investigation, evaluation, and resolution of bodily injury claims involving company vehicles or drivers.
  • Prepare detailed file summaries for internal reporting, large loss assessments, and reinsurance purposes.
  • Handle bodily injury claims following industry best practices and company policies.
  • Adjust physical damage claims, including unreported damage.
  • Negotiate with insurance adjusters, claimants, and third-party representatives upon receiving critical information.
  • Discuss accidents, damages, preventability, and processes with commercial vehicle operators. Maintain files related to litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Report claims and accidents as necessary.
  • Be available on-call during nights and weekends for serious accidents and other duties as required.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including towing companies, body shops, and storage yards, to obtain accurate costs for claim settlements.
  • Update and post payments for repairs.
  • Order police reports, set up new claim files, and confirm losses with insurers and brokers.
  • Coordinate with Claims, Safety, and Compliance teams regarding relevant issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in an Insurance or related program.
  • 2+ years of experience in trucking, claims, safety, or compliance preferred.
  • Experience with commercial lines and transportation liability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong multi-tasking, time-management, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and stay calm in crisis situations.
