Job description

Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a dynamic company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise to the Oil and Gas industry, is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill a role as a Senior Civil / Structural Designer.

Acero focuses on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement, and construction management services—from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core services include in-house project management, process, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical I&C engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, and construction management.

Responsibilities :

1. Work independently under the guidance of the Lead Civil Engineer, demonstrating solid technical capability in:
2. Developing foundations and structural steel plans, layouts, and details.
3. Collaborating with other disciplines to develop drawings and construction packages.
4. Understanding structural materials, specifications, and appropriate usage.
5. Developing or modifying project specifications to meet specific project requirements.
6. Integrating vendor drawings and materials into the overall design.
7. Drafting structural technical details, specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures using drawings, specifications, and calculations with CADD software, as directed by the design team.
8. Reviewing and checking engineer’s sketches and designs for feasibility and compliance with client specifications, industry standards, regulations, and ensuring completeness of the drawing package.
9. Analyzing designs for construction efficiency, material usage, structural integrity, and practicality.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills :

1. Minimum of a civil/structural-related degree or diploma in design drafting.
2. At least ten (10) years of Western Canadian experience with Cadworks and Navisworks.
3. Proficiency in 3D modeling, capable of running models and extracting deliverables efficiently.
4. Understanding of relevant codes and standards.
5. Ability to work accurately and efficiently, even under long hours and tight deadlines.
6. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
7. Strong written, verbal, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
8. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet client deadlines.
