Position Overview

This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Proactive about learning new information and skills.
  • Initiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization.
  • Seeks feedback and uses it effectively.
  • Has a good understanding of the complete design and has good input into ways of improving the design.
  • Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments.
  • Recognize inefficiencies or misuse of symbology and questions.
  • Identifies the customer’s both internally and externally.
  • Handles various assignments, including rework, in a timely manner to meet schedule deadlines.
  • Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize person productivity.
  • Performs quality checks of the design in a team environment to ensure accuracy.
  • Carries out assignments carefully while focused on details.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or High School diploma + 2 years’ experience as a minimum.
  • 2-4 years' minimum relevant experience in civil/structural design.
  • Receives limited instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments from more experienced engineers.
  • Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing. Presents ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Participates effectively on teams. Accepts direction and contributes to the success of the team.
  • Supports project teams and departments positively and productively. Works well with others to accomplish goals.
  • Serves as point of contact for internal and external customers.
  • Follows through on commitments made to customers.
  • Can manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate AutoCAD skills.
