Job Description

Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a dynamic company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise to the Oil and Gas industry, is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill a role as a Senior Civil/Structural Designer.

Acero specializes in facility and pipeline engineering, procurement, and construction management services—from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offerings include in-house project management, process, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical I&C engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, and construction management.

Responsibilities:

• Work independently under the guidance of the Lead Civil Engineer, demonstrating solid technical capability in:

Foundations and structural steel plans, layouts, and details.

Collaborating with other disciplines to develop drawings and construction packages.

Understanding of structural materials, specifications, and appropriate application of different types of materials, designs, and members.

Developing or modifying standard project specifications to meet specific project requirements.

Integrating vendor drawings and materials into the overall design.

Drafting structural technical details, specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures using drawings, specifications, and calculations with CADD software as directed by the design team.

Utilizing AutoCAD, CADworks, and Navisworks.

• Review and verify engineer’s sketches and designs for feasibility, compliance with client specifications, industry standards, applicable regulations, and completeness of the drawing package.
• Analyze designs for construction efficiency, material usage, structural integrity, and practicality.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Minimum of a civil/structural-related degree or diploma in design drafting.
• At least ten (10) years of Western Canadian experience working with CADworks and Navisworks.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, capable of running models and efficiently extracting deliverables such as MTOs, iso’s, and 2D drawings.
• Knowledge of pertinent codes and standards.
• Ability to work accurately and quickly, including long hours if necessary.
• Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
