Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is currently recruiting experienced Skilled Civil Labourers for a project in Fort McMurray, AB. You will join a team dedicated to safety and efficiency, supporting trades and maintaining a clean, organized site.

Ideal candidates prove up-to-date safety knowledge, physical endurance and reliable transportation. The role offers CLAC hourly wages, weekly pay, and benefits after 300 hours along with paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Skilled Labourer in industrial construction environments.
• Experience digging trenches and using ground tools (packers, pumps, rakes, shovels).
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced, reliable and hard-working Skilled Civil Labourers to join our team at a project in Fort McMurray, AB.

Compensation/Benefits

• CLAC hourly wages


• Payday is every Friday


• Company contributed RRSP & Pension contributions


• Benefits after 300 hours


• Paid training


• 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earnings


• OT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in line with OCL and industry standards, procedures and practices


• Assist skilled trades as required


• Operate basic hand and power tools safety and effectively


• Perform spotting and flagging duties when required


• Read and understand site-specific instructions prior to each shift


• Site cleaning and preparation


• Maintain a clean and organized work area / job site


• Participate in daily toolbox meetings


• Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions


• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Skilled Labourer in industrial construction environments


• Experience digging trenches, operating ground tools like packers, pumps, rakes and shovels


• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools


• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and hazard awareness


• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour (lifting up to 50lbs, bending, standing and working in various weather conditions)


• Ensure a safe team environment. Strong teamwork skills with a positive and reliable work ethic


• Strong communication skills. Ability to follow and understand instructions given.


• Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract


• Must have the following safety tickets: WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020 (or equivalent), H2S Alive is an asset


• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test


• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
