Argus Properties is hiring Journeyman and Apprentice Carpenters to support our growing team in Kelowna, BC. Working under the direction of the Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of structures and components made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. You will have rough framing experience, finishing, concrete, and exterior installations experience. The role requires drive and a sense of accountability.Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Assisting the Civil Superintendent
- Running equipment
- Laying pipe
- Material pickups
- Assisting with surveying and site layout
- Water, sewer, manhole installation, septic work, and irrigation as required
- Estimating
- Quantity takeoffs
- Maintaining company equipment (clean, regular maintenance, etc.,)
- Plan, organize, and direct water and sewer installations
- Shallow services where applicable
- Excavations (cut/fill)
- Grubbing
- Asphalt prep
- Curbs
- Help with tilt and concrete work if required
- Screening/sorting/crushing of soils, gravel
- Coordinate trucking as required to complete the work
- Build lock block walls
- Septic field install
- Assist with valve engineering and civil designs as required.
- Survey for pipe installations and determine proper locations, heights, slope, and grade as per design
- Off-site civil work
- Assist with permits and call for inspections for civil work.
- Daily and or weekly site reporting
Competencies:- Passion for real estate development with a proactive and independent nature including strong negotiation, planning, and problem-solving skills;
- Analytical capabilities and business acumen in leading and planning for large-scale, multi-step projects;
- A demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail as well as the ability to consider the bigger picture in alignment with corporate strategic objectives;
- The ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments in a team environment;

- Time-Management and adherence to deadlines;
- Direct experience in industrial tilt-up construction is considered an asset.
Qualifications:- 12+ years’ experience in construction and real estate development, design and construction related projects;
- Experience in the construction of industrial, office, retail, hotel, and multi-family residential projects is essential;
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral; communicating with employees and third-party service providers, writing proposals, procuring materials, and dealing with clients;
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, able to read blueprints and understand other technical aspects.
