Job summary

WATT Consulting Group is seeking a senior civil engineer to lead land development and municipal infrastructure projects in Alberta. You will manage projects end-to-end, build client relationships, and contribute to the growth of WATT's civil practice while mentoring junior staff.

You will apply sound engineering judgment across planning, design, approvals, and delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring project profitability and quality.

Qualifications

• Registration with APEGA as a P.Eng., P.L.(Eng.), or P.Tech.(Eng.), or eligibility to register within three months of joining WATT.
• Five to eight years of progressive civil engineering experience in consulting/land development or municipal infrastructure.
• Experience leading civil projects through design, approvals, tendering, construction support, and close-out.
• Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management, water and sanitary servicing, roadworks, earthworks, and utilities.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities with quality, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering projects from planning and design through approvals, tendering, construction support, and close-out.
• Develop project scopes, fees, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and delivery strategies.
• Serve as the trusted technical and project-management contact for clients, municipalities, developers, and project partners.
• Coordinate engineers, technologists, coordinators, and other delivery professionals to ensure successful outcomes.
• Navigate municipal approvals, respond to regulatory comments, and maintain strong quality-control practices throughout delivery.
