Job summary

Stantec in Calgary seeks an entry‑level Civil EIT to assist senior engineers on municipal water and infrastructure projects. You will support multi‑disciplinary teams, perform design tasks, and contribute to reports and design briefs while learning through hands‑on field and office work.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree and are registered as an EIT with APEGA, with coop/internship experience. This role may involve field work and coordination across meetings and project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Civil background, preferably water/wastewater.
• Registered with APEGA as an EIT.
• Related Co-op/Internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support multi-disciplinary municipal civil projects: new build and infrastructure renewal.
• Perform detailed studies and design tasks for water-related projects (site civil, conveyance, water resources).

Job description

Your Opportunity

Our Calgary office has an opportunity for a Civil EIT. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, field work, coordination of simple tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. The smaller projects that an entry level civil engineer may be assigned to will have relatively few complex features. In general, an entry level civil engineer will assist more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities

• This role will be supporting multi-disciplinary municipal civil projects, related to new build and infrastructure renewal.
• Detailed studies and design tasks associated with water related projects including site civil, conveyance and water resources projects.
• Writing reports and design briefs.
• Taking responsibility for the quality of your written, technical, and graphic work, and for completing work on-time and on-budget.
• Coordinating design drawings and specification development.
• Attending internal, client and contactor meetings and documenting the meetings with minutes.
• Contract Administration as required for a wide variety of construction projects.

• Working knowledge of various software for planning and design of facilities (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D/Pipe Networks, ArcView GIS) will be considered an asset.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a background in Civil Engineering (preferably in the water and wastewater discipline), from an accredited university.
• Registered with APEGA as an EIT.
• Related Co-op/Internship experience preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers andremainingsedentary forlong periodsof time. Field work may include exposure tothe elementsincluding inclement weather.

Pay Transparency:In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
