You’ll Love This Role If
- You take pride in leading design teams and mentoring junior technologists, sharing your expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D to elevate the quality and efficiency of every project.
- You thrive on solving complex design challenges, applying advanced knowledge of civil engineering codes and standards to deliver innovative, high-impact infrastructure solutions.
- You enjoy being hands-on with both design and fieldwork, from conducting site surveys to overseeing quality control and ensuring every drawing meets the highest standards.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute civil engineering assignments of varying complexity using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design tools.
- Mentor junior technologists, sharing advanced techniques and ensuring adherence to design standards.
- Organize and guide drafting teams on small projects, developing schedules and monitoring progress to meet deadlines.
- Review discipline drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct site surveys and involve junior staff to support training and data collection.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to integrate civil systems into cohesive project deliverables.
- Manage discipline-specific information systems and ensure efficient resource use.
- Apply advanced knowledge of construction technology to solve design challenges and implement innovative solutions.
- Oversee quality control for contract documents and support contract administration and field review tasks.
What You Bring To The Table
- Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in civil engineering design and drafting.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and construction practices.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and mentoring mindset.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Professional certification or licensure in civil engineering technology or related field (preferred).
