Knappett Industries is offering a Civil Construction Pipelaying role for ongoing projects in Prince George, BC. We seek positive, experienced, and energetic people to join our diverse team.

Candidates should have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work cohesively within a team. Responsibilities include following safety protocols, cutting pipes, aligning and fusing pipes, installing sanitary and storm water systems, and reading plans.

Qualifications

• Math skills to calculate grades and slopes.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• 3+ years of pipe laying experience in civil construction.
• Professional demeanor when dealing with the public.
• Able to work outside in all weather at all times of the year.
• Able to do extensive physical labour.
• Valid provincial driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the safety program.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for fusing.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using provided material.
• Install sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Lay out pipe routes, following specs or blueprints, coordinating with supervisor.
• Check slopes for conformance using levels or lasers.

This position is compensated at an hourly rate plus LOA for our of town employees. Compensation will be determined by the successful applicant’s level of training and experience. Submissions will be reviewed and only short listed applicants will be contacted for interviews.
