Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. is seeking experienced pipe layers for civil construction projects in Prince George, BC. Join a diverse team, follow safety protocols, and contribute to long-term infrastructure work with opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities include cutting, aligning, fusing and installing sanitary and storm sewer pipes, reading blueprints, and working outdoors in all weather. A valid BC driver’s license is required and physical stamina is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience pipe laying in civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Valid provincial driver’s license.
• Able to work outside in all-weather at all times of the year.
• Able to do extensive physical labour.
• Professional demeanour when dealing with the public.

• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the success of the safety program.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for fusing.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using provided material.
• Install sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Lay out pipe routes, following specifications or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisor.
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.

• Ability to read and interpret plans and specification.

• Able to do extensive physical labour
• Valid provincial driver’s license

Assets:

• Recent working experience in similar role
• First aid training

This position is compensated at an hourly rate plus LOA for our of town employees. Compensation will be determined by the successful applicant’s level of training and experience. Submissions will be reviewed and only short listed applicants will be contacted for interviews.
