Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. on Vancouver Island, BC is seeking a Civil Construction Labourer to join our diverse, energetic team on ongoing projects. You will perform site tasks, operate small tools, and help with pipe laying learnings.

We value safety, a strong work ethic, teamwork and the ability to work outdoors year-round. Two years of civil construction experience and a valid provincial driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in civil construction.
• Valid provincial driver’s license.
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Able to work as a team as well as independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to safety program.
• Perform tasks on construction sites and operate small tools.
• Shoveling and site clean up; assist pipe laying techniques.
• Learn and progress in civil construction tasks.

Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. is a privately owned construction company with operations bases in Nanaimo, Courtenay, Port Alberni, Prince George and Fort St. John, BC. Since commencing operations in 1988, Knappett has grown to be a leading provider of civil construction services for major infrastructure, residential subdivision development, underground utility installation & replacement, road building, land clearing projects in British Columbia. Over the past 30 years Knappett Industries Ltd. has maintained a strong and accelerating growth rate, with operations currently serving Western Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the success of the safety program
• Perform tasks as required on construction site
• Operate and maintain small tools
• Shoveling and site clean up
• Learn pipe laying techniques (for advancement)

• Able to work outside in all-weather at all times of the year

• Able to do extensive physical labour
• Valid provincial driver’s license

This position is compensated at an hourly rate. Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three month probationary period.
