Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. is seeking a Civil Construction Estimator for our Port Alberni, BC office.

The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders for civil infrastructure projects, including earthworks, site works, roads, and underground utilities. You will review drawings, specs, and conditions to develop quantities and pricing strategies, using MS Excel and HeavyBid to produce detailed proposals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cumulative applicable work experience.
• Familiarity with civil construction.
• Great attention to detail and overall social skills.
• Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to multitask.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Participate in pre-construction planning, bid reviews, and post-award project kick-offs.
• Provide estimating support to project teams during execution, as needed.

Civil Construction Estimator

Knappett Industries is happy to offer an opportunity for a Civil Construction Estimator for our office located in Port Alberni, BC. This role will focus on the preparation and documentation of accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders that will result in successful construction. This position is compensated at a salary between $95,000 - $135,000, DOE. Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three month probationary period. Compensation will be determined by the successful applicant’s level of training and experience. Submissions will be reviewed and only short-listed applicants will be contacted for interviews. Relocation expenses will be considered within Western Canada for the right candidate.
