Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is seeking an experienced Landscape Lead Hand in Alberta to lead high-performing crews using the latest CAT equipment and LiDAR technology. The role focuses on project planning, safety, and delivering quality landscapes across hardscape, streetscape, and general landscape construction.

You will mentor crew members, coordinate with foremen, and ensure timelines and client expectations are met while maintaining Wilco’s Safety First culture and One Team mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of landscaping experience.
• Proven experience as Landscape Lead Hand.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise landscape construction work to maximize productivity and meet project schedules.
• Being hands-on in field construction involved in all aspects of project construction including planning, construction, quality, and safety.
• Communicating to the Foreman upcoming needs for the project including materials, manpower and equipment.
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact production.
• Ensure all work meets company standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
• Ensures that all work is being done safely and in an efficient manner that maintains Wilco's excellent quality.
• Train, coach, and develop crew members while identifying future leaders with a focus on Wilco procedures and safe work practices.
• Complete daily reporting, safety documentation, and payroll confirmation using modern field technology.

• Minimum 3 years of Landscaping Experience.
• Proven experience as Landscape Lead Hand.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test.
• Demonstrable leadership skills.
• Solid understanding of landscaping, tree and shrub planting, pavers and concrete.
• Comfortable using tablets, construction software, and digital reporting systems.
• Ability to read construction drawings, grades, and survey information.
• Experience with GPS machine control, laser levels, or related construction technology is an asset
• Work unsupervised with a 3-5 person crew.
• Have solid knowledge of the fundamental principals of landscaping including grading, planting and hardscape.
• Valid drivers license.
