Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is currently seeking Journeyman Carpenters to join our diverse and dynamic team. This seasonal, on-site role in the Edmonton area will focus on timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, formwork and grade beams, with local travel to sites around Edmonton.

Candidates should have extensive carpentry knowledge, be able to read plans, and work safely in a multi-trade environment. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites are required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman carpenter with 5+ years framing/finishing experience.
• Ability to work in a multi-trade environment.
• Physically capable of long on-site work, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to sites.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with the Nektar app.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
• Erect and remove structural formwork for foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.
• Construct wood forms for concrete projects including building foundations.
• Construct wooden framing including walls and floors.
• Install roof systems, partitions, and stairs.
• Move materials on site and assist with cleanup.
• Maintain and clean tools and equipment.
• Follow drawings, specs, building codes and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain safe working conditions and set priorities as needed.
• Be flexible to changing site requirements.

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is currently seeking aJourneyman Carpenters to join our diverse and dynamic team. The successful candidate will bring their skills and understanding of construction codes to oversee and work on day-to-day carpentry projects on site. Projects include but is not limited to timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, formwork & grade beams. This is a seasonal position, Monday through Saturday, Local to the Edmonton and area.

We seek an ideal candidate with extensive knowledge of the construction industry, particularly concerning concrete work, forming, and framing, as well as the construction of stairs, walls, and fences. The Carpenters will undertake some or all of the following tasks:

• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to determine the materials and dimensions specified.
• Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts
• Construct wood forms for concrete construction projects including building foundations.
• Construct wooden framing including walls and floors.
• Install roof systems, partitions, and stairs.
• Move material on the construction site, help clean-up work sites.
• Maintain and clean tools/equipment.
• Interpret and apply information found in drawings, specifications, building codes, and /or receive instructions from a supervisor.
• The ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
• Maintain and ensure safe working conditions.

• Journeyman Carpenter with minimum 5 years framing/finishing.
• Must be able to work in a multi-trade environment.
• Physically fit with an ability to work, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time.
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs often.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees and supervisors.
• Must have a commitment to safe work practices and be able to adhere to safety policies.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving abstract and reliable transportation to job sites.
