Job summary

Dexter Construction, part of the Municipal group of Companies, is seeking a CAD Technician to join our Bedford, NS team. You will work on earthwork calculations, develop Civil 3D plans, and review drawings to support heavy civil projects across the Atlantic Provinces.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in AutoCAD Civil 3D, knowledge of civil methods, and the ability to interpret geotechnical reports. Join a team that values independence, collaboration, and ongoing training with a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.
• Experience in current civil construction methods.
• Asset: Remotely Piloted Aircraft System experience.
• Ability to interpret Geotechnical Reports.
• Previous CAD Technician experience from survey/highways/mining/construction background.
• Post-secondary education in surveying or engineering preferred.
• Experience with MS Office is an asset.
• Able to work independently with little supervision and in a team.
• Valid drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Perform earthwork volumetric computations.
• Develop plans and calculate material takeoffs in Civil 3D.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
• Collaborate with Estimating Team.
• Ensure CAD standards and procedures are followed.
• Other duties as required.
