Job summary

Novatech is seeking a civil engineering draftsperson to prepare preliminary and detailed drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D for infrastructure projects. You will assist with roadway design, grading, and servicing, and help estimate construction costs.

The role requires a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma and strong technical writing, with field survey experience considered an asset. In-office role with potential future hybrid work, and a competitive benefits package including RRSP.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma required.
• Design coursework in storm and sanitary sewers, watermain, drainage, roadways, and grading an asset.
• Field/survey experience is an asset.
• Ontario driver’s license recommended.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking new talent to join our established and growing Novatech team. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about using their technical abilities to prepare and design contract drawings for a variety of civil engineering linear infrastructure and site works projects. What You’ll Do

• Prepare preliminary and detailed engineering design drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Assist with roadway, grading, and servicing design.
• Help prepare construction cost estimates.
• Develop knowledge of current industry practices and standards.
• Perform field inspections and field surveys as needed.

Skills & Experience You’ll Need

• High level of commitment and professionalism
• Knowledge of the following software: Microsoft Office applications; AutoCAD/Civil 3D
• Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong technical writing, attention to detail and organizational skills.
• A valid Province of Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle recommended.
• Field and or survey work experience an asset.

Education and Accreditation Required

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma.
• Design courses in storm and sanitary sewers, watermain, drainage, roadways, and grading an asset.

Compensation/Work Arrangements

• Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually. Salary offered will be based on education, experience,
  and skills.
• Competitive benefit package.
