Job summary

The Salvation Army Community and Family Services is seeking a temporary full-time Christmas Van Driver in Halifax, NS. The role supports the Christmas season with daily pickups of donated toys, organizing and packing in a warehouse, and ensuring vehicle safety.

Working hours are 8:30-4, Monday to Friday, ending December 31, 2026. Candidate requirements include lifting 50 pounds, a Grade 12 certificate, and the ability to pass background checks. Compensation ranges per the posted scale.

Job Description

Position Purpose summary: The Christmas Van Driver provides support to the Community and Family Services during the Christmas season on a temporary basis. The Driver will pick up donated toys from various locations within the HRM and to assist in the organizing and packing of these toys in a warehouse setting.

Key Accountabilities

• Pick up and delivery of donations on a daily basis
• Oversee the maintenance and safety of the vehicle

Working Conditions

This is a temporary full time position ending December 31, 2026. Hours of Work: 8:30-4PM (M-F), with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Flexibility required.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

Candidates must meet all requirements to be covered under the company's vehicle insurance policy and maintain eligibility throughout their employment.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $18.30 to $22.87 with a maximum of $27.44. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
