Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY

The Christmas Toy Shop Worker provides support to the Community and Family Services during the Christmas season on a temporary basis.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist with the set-up, take-down and organization of toy distribution program.
• Assist with the scheduling and organization of volunteers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a seasonal temporary position based on 40hrs per week Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements. The working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions. Ability to lift/move up to 29 lbs.

Education, Qualifications and Certifications

Completed High School or equivalent.

Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience working in community-based programs would be a definite asset. Experience leading a team would be an asset.

• Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $17.60 to $21.84 with a maximum of $26.20. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
