Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a temporary Administrative Support Worker for the Toy Mountain campaign during the Christmas season. Based in Ottawa, you will help manage the Toy Mountain distribution and volunteer activities.

You will oversee the organization's mailbox, assist with registration and inventory, coordinate volunteers, and keep accurate records. The role requires high school completion and at least one year in community programs; a valid G license and bilingualism are

Qualifications

• Completed High School or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in community-based programs is an asset.
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs (15 kg) and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• This is a temporary position for the Christmas Toy Shop campaign.

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The Christmas Toy Shop Administrative Support Worker provides support to the Toy Mountain Campaign during the Christmas season on a temporary basis.

• Assist with data base training for office intake, registration and distribution.
• Assist with client registrations and distribution as required.
• Assisting with coordination with program supplies.
• Overseeing the collection of volunteer paperwork.
• Assist with recording statistical data in a clear, organized, and accurate manner.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Working Conditions

• This is a temporary position.
• Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, include a ½ hour unpaid meal break
• Working environment is typically in the office.
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs. (15 kg) and up to 100 lbs with assistance

Education, Qualifications And Certifications

• Completed High School or equivalent

Experience And Skilled Knowledge Requirements

• A minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience working in community-based programs would be a definite asset.

• Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
• Full “G” license considered an asset
• Bilingualism is considered an asset

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $18.50 to $23.13 with a maximum of $27.76.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
