Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, personal vehicle required and insurance, current copy of driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing, unloading, documenting, and sorting donations of toys and food for the Christmas program and assist with preparing donated items for distribution.
  • Assist with pick-ups of food and toy donations from community donors using program vehicle.
  • Assist with set up and take down of toy and food Christmas hamper distribution centre.
  • Record statistical data in a clear, organized, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas.
  • Assist in the Kettle campaign where needed through dropping off documentation, covering breaks, checking on volunteers, picking up donations at end of day.

This includes Christmas Kettles and Christmas Toy Hampers.**Accountabilities:*** Assist with processing, unloading, documenting, and sorting donations of toys and food for the Christmas program and assist with preparing donated items for distribution.* Assist with pick-ups of food and toy donations from community donors using program vehicle.* Assist with set up and take down of toy and food Christmas hamper distribution centre.* Assist with sorting toy donations.* Record statistical data in a clear, organized, and accurate manner.* Maintain confidentiality in all areas.* Assist in the Kettle campaign where needed through dropping off documentation, covering breaks, checking on volunteers, picking up donations at end of day.* Perform other related duties as required.**Working Conditions:*** This is a temporary part-time position based on 25 hours per week.* The pay is $19 per hour.* Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a 1⁄2 hour unpaid meal break.* Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements closer to Christmas.* Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification.* Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
