Active Start Childcare is seeking Educators for our Preschool and OSC programs at the Calgary South East Seton location. The role requires strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement, and the ability to foster positive relationships with children and colleagues.

Ideal candidates will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 1–3, along with current criminal record check with vulnerable sector search and First Aid

Qualifications

• Alberta ECE Level 1/2/3 with experience is required.
• Experience with infants or young children in licensed childcare preferred.
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Alberta Child Intervention Record Check required.
• Solid knowledge of Alberta childcare licensing regulations and health and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient, caring, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for preschool and OSC classrooms.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities supporting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and team members.

About The Role

We are looking for Educators for our Preschool and OSC programs at our Calgary South East Seton Active Start location. We are looking for candidates who possess a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidates will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication and multitasking abilities. Prior experience is required, and candidates must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 1 (with experience), 2, or 3, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Alberta childcare licensing regulations and health and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring, dependable, and passionate about early childhood education.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking initiative when needed.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
